Dear Friends and Family,

As I sit down to pen this blog post, I’m filled with a profound sense of gratitude. Gratitude to God for bringing Norah Betsy Namugwere into my life and for guiding us on this remarkable journey of patience and commitment. It is with great joy that I share with you our story, a story that has unfolded over the past two years, leading us to the beautiful moment we’re about to embark upon.

My name is Rogers Mukalele, Director at Sharebility Uganda Limited, and I stand here on the cusp of a new chapter in my life as I prepare to wed the love of my life, Norah, on the 2nd of December 2023. Our journey began in early 2022, amidst the vibrant world of education and technology. I was leading the Edify EdTech Trainings for the ICT Teachers Association of Uganda (ITAU), and it was there that I first met Norah. She joined the team of facilitators from ITAU, and from the moment our paths crossed, I was captivated by her unwavering hardwork, decency and integrity.

Norah, a teacher by profession, shared my passion for ICT. Her enthusiasm for learning and growth was evident, and I couldn’t help but encourage her to enroll in an ICT course at Makerere University Jinja Campus. She embraced this opportunity wholeheartedly and completed her studies just last month. Since then, we’ve collaborated on numerous projects, engaged in community work through organizations like Edify Uganda, ITAU, Sharebility Uganda, WordPress Community Uganda, Pollicy, and UNICEF. Though all this, Norah has proven to be not just a reliable partner but an extraordinary one.

I introduced her to my family in Kibuku (Bugwere), and they welcomed her with open arms. A significant step in our journey was the pre-visit I made to her parents’ home in Kangalaba, Butaleja, on 28th December 2022. Surrounded by the love and support of our families, we continued to grow closer.

The pivotal moment in our story took place at the after-party of WordCamp Jinja 2023, a celebration of community, collaboration, and creativity. Amidst the beauty of the Source of the Nile, I gathered the courage to make my intentions clear and proposed to Norah in front of our dear friends. And, with hearts full of love and joy, she said yes!

As we prepare for our upcoming wedding, I am reminded of the divine guidance that has brought us together. It is through faith and trust in God’s plan that we find ourselves at this juncture. In this spirit of gratitude, I’d like to share a verse from the Bible that resonates with our journey:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

These words have guided us through the challenges and triumphs of the past two years, and they continue to inspire us as we step into this new chapter of our lives.

Below, you’ll find a photo gallery showcasing some of the key moments from our journey. We invite you to join us on this remarkable journey in the next three months leading up to our wedding day. Your love and support mean the world to us, and we are truly blessed to have you as part of our lives.
